Call of Duty 4 was one of the few COD games that I played more than once. It came with a great singleplayer story and a fast-paced multiplayer. The iconic sniper mission which required patience and a significant lack of gunblazing heroics really made the completion of this level particularly rewarding.
Although I’m not typically a fan of the more arcade-like run-and-gun shooters, I did end up playing quite a bit of the multiplayer, often ending a session with a very sore wrist. Now that a remaster has been made, the game has been breathed a new breath of life and performs well on modern systems.
Unfortunately most games today seem to lack a decent singleplayer story experience to enjoy and focus solely on multiplayer experiences which are a rinse and repeat dime-a-dozen experience.
This game is a definite play if not for the multiplayer, then for the excellent singleplayer experience.
